Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Habit Journal different from a regular notebook or planner?

A notebook gives you empty pages. A planner helps you organize your time.

The Habit Journal helps you build a habit that lasts.

It combines the most practical ideas from some of the best books and research on habit formation with a simple 66 day framework that guides you through the entire process. Instead of spending months reading several books before taking action, you can start applying the most useful concepts from day one.

The goal is simple: spend less time learning about habits and more time building them.

Why 66 days?

You may have heard that it takes 21 days to build a habit. Unfortunately, it isn’t that simple.

Research suggests that habit formation can take anywhere from around 20 to more than 200 days depending on the person, the habit, and the circumstances. One well known study found an average of approximately 66 days.

There is no magic number.

A habit isn’t permanent just because you’ve repeated it for a certain number of days. If you stop practicing it, it can slowly disappear.

We chose 66 days because it gives you enough time to experiment, adjust your strategy, recover from setbacks, and begin seeing yourself differently. It is not a promise that your habit will be automatic after 66 days.

It is a commitment to becoming the person you have always wanted to be.

Is the Habit Journal based on Atomic Habits?

Yes, in part.

The journal was inspired by many of the practical ideas presented in Atomic Habits by James Clear, together with insights from other respected authors and research on habit formation and behavior change.

Rather than replacing those books, the journal brings together many of their most practical ideas in one place and turns them into something you can actually use every day.

The goal is not only to understand how habits work. The goal is to help you practice them consistently.

Can I use the journal for any habit?

Absolutely.

Whether you want to exercise more, read every day, meditate, eat healthier, spend less time on your phone, learn a new skill, or simply become more consistent, the journal can help.

The system is designed around the process of building habits, not around one specific habit.

Why should I focus on one habit instead of several at the same time?

Changing one habit is already challenging because you’re asking your brain to replace something familiar with something new.

Now imagine trying to do that five times at once.

Many people start with great intentions. They decide to exercise, eat healthier, wake up earlier, read every day, meditate, and learn a new language all at the same time. A few weeks later, most of those habits have disappeared.

Not because they were lazy.

Because it was simply too much.

Focusing on one meaningful habit may seem slower, but in real life it usually leads to much better results. Once a habit becomes part of who you are, it requires much less mental effort. That’s the right time to start working on the next one.

Here’s a question worth asking yourself:

When was the last time you successfully changed several important habits at the same time and managed to keep all of them?

For most people, lasting change happens one habit at a time.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing.

Really.

Missing one day doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

Life happens. Some days are harder than others. What matters is what you do next.

Simply continue where you left off, learn from what interrupted your routine, and keep moving forward.

Consistency is built over months, not ruined in a single day.

Do I need to read any habit building books before using the journal?

Not at all.

One of the reasons this journal exists is because many people don’t have the time to read several books before they can start improving their habits.

The journal already includes the most practical concepts, explained in a simple way and organized into a step by step system that you can start using immediately.

Everything you need to begin is already inside.

Is the Habit Journal suitable for beginners?

Absolutely.

Whether this is your first attempt at building a habit or you’ve already tried habit trackers and planners before, the journal is designed to guide you step by step.

You don’t need any previous experience.

You only need the willingness to begin.
